HPV VACCINATION

What is HPV: HPV is a human papilloma virus which affects all the mucosal surface of cervix ,vagina, vulva, oral cavity and anal canal.

Vaccines Against HPV: There are two strengths of vaccine available. the QUADRIVALENT ( provides immunity against 4 virus) and the NONAVALENT vaccine( provides immunity against 9 strains of the virus)

Age Groups:

For Quadrivalent - females between 9 to 46yrs.if in reproductive phase, to avoid pregnancy during the course of the vaccine and not for male inoculation

For Nonavalent - MALES AND FEMALES between 9 to 25 yrs.

Dose: 3 Dose commonly within 6 months . Interval is variable ,depending on the brand and type of vaccine. in certain age group and type only 2 doses can suffice
